Puruvesi Qajaq is a family-run kayaking company based on the shores of Lake Puruvesi in Kerimäki, Eastern Finland.
We combine international expedition experience with local knowledge of Finnish waters. Our focus is on safe learning, technical skill development and meaningful time in nature.
Whether you are a beginner or an experienced paddler, we create supportive environments where you can develop confidence at your own pace.
Our Approach
We believe kayaking should feel:
Safe
Calm
Technically sound
Enjoyable
Accessible
Our trips and courses are built around small groups, clear instruction and respect for nature. We prioritise safety, preparation and steady progression of skills.

At Puruvesi Qajaq, Oscar focuses on safe trip design, skill development and supporting participants in building confidence outdoors.
Our Experience
Together, we have spent over 500 weeks leading and participating in professional backcountry expeditions.
That experience shapes everything we do from safety planning to teaching progression to creating supportive group dynamics.
We believe nature is a place for growth, learning and connection and we aim to make that experience accessible, safe and meaningful for everyone who joins us.
Rooted in Puruvesi
Our home is here.
Lake Puruvesi is one of Finland’s most beautiful and cleanest lakes. Its clear water, peaceful shores and open horizons create ideal conditions for learning and exploring by kayak.
We are proud to build our work here and to share this place with you.
See you out there!
